- A Carpenter put a lever handle barrel into the door which did not work for my original ceramic knobs. Unfortunately this caused many issues. I thought I would do this myself which meant rasping the channel to accommodate the correct barrel for the knobs. It was easy to do.

The door knobs are available with two different mechanisms:
- Sprung – the knob will withdraw automatically when turned
- Unsprung – the knob will turn freely without any spring-back action.
Unsprung mortice doork knobs will need a heavy-duty latch or lock mechanism.
